Tomb of tranquility

Until my recent trip to the Xianling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in Zhongxiang, in Central China's Hubei Province, I had not been able to find any quiet world cultural heritage sites in China.

At first, I figured, this was because most of the sites were famous tourist destinations before they were even recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

And although some of them were once obscure, they would not remain so after being listed.

So, the Xianling Ming Tomb is certainly an exception.

Located on Chunde Hills, about 7.5 kilometres ...
