Deaf kids cured
Some 163,000 deaf children have managed to recover their hearing
and speaking ability thanks to a rehabilitation programme that China
launched in 1988. Official sources showed some 30,000 babies are
born with impaired hearing ability and another approximately 800,000
deaf children under the age of seven have hearing problems.
