Scene one: Spring 2002 - Twenty-year-old Chou'er has to drop out
of university to get a job and earn money, because his father was
badly hurt in a fight with people who were enforcing a resettlement
project that caused his family to lose their home.
He finds it difficult to find a good job without a college degree
and meets some confused youth who describe various problems in their
lives.
One day before an interview at a real estate company, he meets
Xiao Qin, the daughter of the company's owner and with her help,
