Kathryn Kris, psychiatry professor at Harvard Medical School; at 59

Kathryn (Beck) Kris, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry
at Harvard Medical School and psychiatrist for Harvard's University
Health Services, died of cancer Sunday at her home in Brookline. She
was 59.
Dr. Kris was instrumental in developing the mental health program
for the university and was considered an authority on emotional and
developmental concerns of women medical students, developing her
expertise when women began entering the medical and other
professional schools in large numbers.
