Vox made a lot of interesting recordings in the 1950s and 1960s that introduced important artists and repertory at budget prices; there has always been a tendency to undervalue the Vox catalog because the recorded sound was so variable and the records were so common and so cheap. Moss Music Group has been busy reissuing the old Vox catalog, leading to a revaluation. The "Vox Legends" series got off to an auspicious start by reissuing some of the few Vox titles that became rarities -- a first volume of the mid-career recordings of Mieczyslaw Horszowski.
