Offering Not-So-Secret Service; Agents Set to Tutor, Mentor at School

The Secret Service, minus President Clinton, will be back at Kramer Junior High this week to begin mentoring a group of students who live in a tangled and often violent world with few role models.

A half-dozen agents are to go to the Anacostia school every month to tutor and mentor students, and chaperone them on field trips, possibly including visits to the White House.

"Our overall goal is to enhance the educational experiences of these kids," said Danny Spriggs, the assistant special agent in charge of the presidential division, who attended Kramer from 1963 to 1966.
