Bill would block access to records for patients of psychotherapists
|
Patients who believe they have been abused by their
psychotherapists would face major new roadblocks in trying to obtain
their treatment records if a bill making its way through the
Legislature eventually passes.
Earlier this week, the House, without debate or roll call vote,
approved a measure that would allow therapists to withhold records if
they think it would "adversely affect the patient's well-being." The
bill is now before the Senate.
