A lighthearted tribute to heavyweight boxer

CAMBRIDGE -- Heavyweight boxer George Foreman announced he will run for president -- but not really -- as he was honored yesterday as the 1992 Acclaim Entertainment Harvard Lampoon Man of Year.

Foreman has punched his way into the history books for making a successful comeback in boxing at age 44 and for doing it on an all-you-can-eat diet that put his weight around the 260-pound mark.

About 300 people greeted Foreman outside the Lampoon office at Harvard University. The shaven-headed, burly yet gentle boxer told the crowd he was throwing his gloves into the ring.
