James R. Larkin Dies at 68; Retired TRW Executive

James Richard Larkin, 68, retired vice president and general
manager of TRW Federal Systems Group in McLean, died of liver
failure Jan. 3 at his home in Chatham, Mass.
Dr. Larkin had worked at TRW for 20 years before retiring in
1987, and had worked 15 years for the Navy Department here before
joining TRW. A former resident of McLean, he moved to Chatham on
retiring.
Dr. Larkin was born in Boston and graduated from Tulane
University. During World War II, he served in the Navy in the
Pacific, then received a master's degree and a doctorate in
mathematics from the University of Kansas.
