PLYMOUTH - The "New Americans" are here. A significant community of Brazilians is living in Plymouth and Kingston, according to Alick de Paula, co-owner of Casa Brasil in North Plymouth. Brazilians are opening shops and restaurants, getting jobs, buying homes. Their children are going to local schools.

De Paula estimates there are 800 Brazilians living in Plymouth, some 300 in both Kingston and Carver, and smaller numbers in such South Shore towns as Marshfield and Weymouth.

Plymouth North High School has 22 Brazilian students in the town's English as a Second Language program this year. ...
