JACQUES ZOON PREPARES TO MAKE A CONTINENTAL SHIFT

LENOX - "At a certain point," says Jacques Zoon, "you have to stick out your neck. You have to enlarge your horizons."

That's exactly what the Boston Symphony Orchestra's principal flute is about to do. He plays a prominent role in this weekend's Tanglewood programs, which the orchestra will take to Europe next week. The last tour concert, in Amsterdam's Concertgebouw early next month, may well mark the Dutch flutist's farewell to the orchestra he has served with such distinction for the last four years.
