DEDHAM HISTORY CAPTURED IN BOOK OF OLD PHOTOGRAPHS

DEDHAM - The Images of America series, which chronicles towns in soft-cover books through photographs and brief descriptions, has become a familiar sight in book stores and libraries. But the book on Dedham, which went on sale this month, is loaded with extras.

Unlike many other installments in the series, Dedham's is the result of considerable local research. It puts names to faces and backgrounds to places. The approximately 235 photos in the book were selected and described by 12 volunteers of the Dedham Historical Society.
