Legendary Russian ballerina Maya Plisetskaya celebrated her 70th
birthday on her home stage today, her first time back since quitting
the Bolshoi Theater in anger six years ago.
Her audience was dominated by Russia's elite, dressed in gowns or
black tie. Among those present was Prime Minister Viktor
Chernomyrdin, whose political party sponsored the event.
