It can be confusing at first. The exhibit currently running at the Photographic Resource Center is called "Significant Other: The Human Presence in Contemporary Animal Imagery." All around the gallery you see vivid photographs of various animals caught in the act of being themselves. But save for an extended hand used as a perch in some of the bird portraits, it seems there are no humans to be found in any of the pictures.

Then it hits you. Of course there is a strong human presence ...
