QUINCY - If you want to find the South Quincy Bocce Club on Wednesday nights in summer, use your ears, not your eyes. You can hear it before you can see it.

The social club is hidden, behind storefronts and old houses on winding Liberty Street, just off the Burgin Parkway.

The sounds of victory as well as defeat punctuate the humid nights. A healthy dose of oohs and aahs are thrown in for good measure.

The bocce court is set in an urban backyard. Surrounded by an odd mixture of stone, concrete, and walls of green leafy bushes and trees, it hasn't changed much from when the club opened in 1932.
