SYDNEY - Gathered in a city park, re-creating a fire ceremony they called the oldest ritual known to humans, a group of Aboriginal activists gave voice last week to their smoldering grievances.

"They have waged an undeclared war against our people," said Isabell Coe, a veteran Aboriginal leader. "We want to end this war. This is about peace and justice. This is what we want, and this is what our fire represents."
