PUBLIC FUNDS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Education is a public trust. For a century and a half, Americans
have taken on the job of providing knowledge and skills to all the
nation's children through a system of taxpayer-supported public
schools.
Now the public schools in Massachusetts and many other states are
being asked to deliver higher performance, pegged to higher
standards. Unfortunately, just at this pivotal time, public schools
are jeopardized by the voucher movement.
