Don King Trial Begins Its Closing Arguments; Prosecutor: Promoter Lied on Insurance Claim

Boxing promoter Don King was lying when he testified about an insurance claim that was filed in connection with a 1991 fight that he canceled, a prosecutor said today.

"It's not fair and square to take a solemn oath to tell the truth . . . and then tell you a story that has no relationship with the truth," Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Stewart said in closing arguments of a six-week trial. King faces nine counts of wire fraud stemming from a $671,520 insurance claim settlement his company received from Lloyd's of London when a fight between his boxer, Julio Cesar Chavez, and Harold Brazier ...
