QUINCY - The 1802 Souther Tide Mill, a rare intact grist and
lumber mill once powered by tide water, now appears safe from the
threat of demolition to make way for new development.
The mill, a scenic respite from the commercial strip along
Southern Artery, also should soon be secure from the ravages of wind
and water, now that the city is committed to shoring up the
structure, which is perched on rocks and pilings above the Town
River.
