Bilingual Education: Evaluating the Studies

After reading William Booth's article on bilingual education {"Bilingual School Has Word for Dole: Wrong," news story, Sept. 22}, I have a word for him: misleading. What Sen. Dole was criticizing in his speech to the American Legion were programs that fail to teach children English or any other skill well. It is very clear that "bilingual education" in Florida is not in this category.
