Child psychiatrist Edward M. Hallowell of Arlington recently did something he tells parents not to do. He over-worried.

His middle child, Jack, a kindergartner, came home from school and said, "Nobody likes me. Nobody talks to me."

Hallowell became unglued. "I totally fell to the floor," he says. So did his wife, Sue. "As kids, both of us struggled with popularity, so this pushed all kinds of buttons," he says. "Besides, we're both worriers anyway, so I didn't sleep all night and Sue cried." But Hallowell, who wrote the book, "Worry, Controlling It and Using It Wisely"…
