Boston Latin School is no longer the urban prep school for bright and mostly white boys that it was when Michael Contompasis was a student there 40 years ago.

Today, the school enrolls more girls than boys, and there are more African-Americans, Hispanics, and Asians than ever in its long and distinguished history. Latin School graduates are moving on to colleges and universities, including significant numbers to community colleges and state colleges as well as to the Ivy League.
