REPEAT DRUNK DRIVER GETS 7 YEARS IN JAIL JUDGE REJECTS BID FOR SHORTER TERM

A 60-year-old Wakefield man, whose long record of drunken
driving convictions led to a law imposing stiffer penalties for
repeat offenders, was sentenced to seven years in prison yesterday
by a judge who decided against requiring that he take a daily dose
of an anti-alcohol drug.
Raymond G. Orben Jr. was convicted Feb. 13 by a Middlesex
Superior Court jury of driving under the influence of alcohol and
driving after revocation of his license. It was his 20th conviction
for drunken driving in the past 24 years. His license was first
revoked in 1973, but Orben has been convicted of driving ...
