Green light for Hyde Park Ave. face lift Menino announces $9 million upgrade of three-mile boulevard

Mayor Thomas M. Menino yesterday announced a $9 million state
grant to reconstruct Hyde Park Avenue, a busy multilane boulevard
that runs through Forest Hills and Hyde Park.
The funding, which comes from the state's Transportation
Improvement Program, will allow the 3-mile street to be repaved in
1998. Also, new benches, street lights, sidewalks, and trees will be
installed.
