A less-than moving `Tango Lesson'
|
The tangos are far more interesting to watch than the story in Sally Potter's "Tango Lesson." A filmmaker named Sally (played by Potter) becomes bored with the screenplay she's writing. Given the excuse of an apartment that needs sudden and extensive repairs, she gets out of the house in a big way, veering off into tango lessons and into an intense affair with the virtuoso dancer (Pablo Veron) who instructs her. While it is perhaps one of the great examples on film of writer's procrastination, "Tango Lesson" seems to shrink into the very sort…
