Christian soldier onward Reed plans to leave Robertson's coalition

WASHINGTON -- Ralph Reed Jr., the telegenic strategist who united
millions of Republican religious conservatives in a powerful
political movement, said yesterday he will step down as head of the
Christian Coalition.
Reed, who is considered likely to run one day for elective
office, said at a news conference that he would end his eight-year
tenure as executive director of television evangelist Pat Robertson's
coalition in September to launch a potentially lucrative political
consulting business.
