Side effect shadows a new baldness drug

It looks like the most hopeful development yet on baldness: a pill
that grew hair on a majority of men who took it.
That was a substantially better record than with Rogaine, a
"remedy" that has been out for nearly a decade and that is applied to
the scalp. The new drug, Propecia, which could be on the market
within a year, can slow the rate of loss as well as add hair in
mildly to moderately bald men.
But when Merck & Co. researchers unveiled their findings Sunday in
