Even mild shakes can harm baby, experts say Angered caretakers urged to walk away
|
Shaking a crying baby out of anger or frustration can lead to its
death, mental retardation, or blindness, and child specialists urge
parents and others to walk away from babies rather than risk hurting
them.

won't stop crying, put the baby down in a safe place and walk away"
until you are calm or have called someone for help, said Jacy
Showers, director of the Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Plus program
in Pueblo, Colo.
