TA Associates again ready to play `let's make a deal' Boston private investment firm looking to buy stake in companies

TA Associates Inc., the private investment company that has sunk
millions into other money managers such as Keystone Investments and
AIM Management Group, is back in the hunt for new deals.
The Boston-based firm began distributing a "Dear Colleague" letter
in investment management circles last month advertising its interest
in "medium- to large-sized firms." Translation: money managers in
the United States or abroad with at least $25 million in annual
revenue, a figure that probably translates into a minimum of $3
billion under management for equity-oriented firms.
