Latin School classes may get crowded But officials say potential transfers won't have impact on new applicants

Boston Latin School will be crowded next year if 150 students bypassed last year because of racial quotas decide to transfer in, but new applicants will not be affected, school officials said yesterday.

Boston School Committee members said they are likely to adopt a recommendation by School Superintendent Thomas W. Payzant that students in the same situation as Julia McLaughlin, a white Hyde Park girl who sued the School Department over racial quotas, also be admitted to the city's exam schools.
