Few cities get to hear Bach's "St. Matthew" Passion as often as
Boston does. There is at least one performance every season, and
over the last 25 years at least eight professional organizations have
presented it, sometimes quite regularly -- and there have been school
performances as well.
Until the past weekend one of the groups best-fitted to perform
this mighty work had not done so: Emmanuel Music, which has
