Q. Where was the Comstock Lode?

A. Once the richest known US silver deposit, the lode was
discovered in 1857 on Mt. Davidson in Nevada by the brothers Ethan
and Hosea Grosh, who died before their claims were recorded.
Sheepherder and prospector Henry Comstock (known as Old Pancake) took
possession of the brothers' cabin and tried to find their old sites.
