Worcester Airport hits turbulence

WORCESTER -- The flight was supposed to bring hope.

It was USAir's first commuter service flight into Worcester Airport in six months. On board was the new airport director, who was taking the flight to work that day.

But the airplane never landed in Worcester. As a crowd of politicians and business leaders waited in the new $16 million terminal, the 19-seater was diverted to Providence because of bad weather.
