Fewer rubella cases in '95

City health officials say three cases of rubella, or German measles, have been reported since June but they do not expect the mini-outbreak to match the highly unusual total of 130 cases last year in and around Boston.

Rubella is a rare disease these days due to immunization, but it flared last year in prisons and shelters, finally ending with the last case diagnosed on June 18, 1994.
