Among her many great roles were the Nightingale and the Swan
Queen, but last Friday Dame Alicia Markova was dressed as a dove, in
the softest shades of gray. The occasion was tea at the Ritz. The
legendary ballerina, now 85 and a walking advertisement for the
benefits of a life spent dancing, was in town for a talk last night
to the Friends of the Libraries of Boston University. Markova is in
the process of handing over her papers to BU, which may not be
considered a repository for dance memo...
