Black fly no longer spoils the spring at N.H. resort

DIXVILLE, N.H. -- Black flies, which are beginning to make their
annual presence known in New Hampshire, are not expected to be any
more pesky than usual this season, scientists say. But that news
does not console those who know the black fly.
"We now know that black flies in other countries have started
cattle stampedes and have caused people to become deranged" from
