A Madonna and child for the '90s? The slut and the dweeb? Whatever we call them, Madonna and David Letterman gave their fans exactly what they wanted Thursday night while making everybody else at least pay attention.

Not that we should be surprised. As Letterman has said over and over again recently, "You know, Paul, I have a theory about that Madonna. I think she likes to shock us."
