Live music returns to the Eliot

There was a time when the Eliot Lounge -- a pillar of Back Bay nightlife -- booked live music six nights a week. That was in the late '70s and early '80s when the crowd-pleasing Heidi & the Secret Admirers drew lines around the block. But different ownership took over, the music stopped and the Eliot settled for being a cosmopolitan bar for Back Bay residents, tourists and athletes, especially long-distance runners looking to load up on carbohydrates from the tap.

Many pictures of runners still grace the walls -- Bill Rodgers, Johnny Kelley and Marty Liquori to name a few -- but the good news ...
