A special task force has dismissed suspected serial child killer
Lewis S. Lent Jr. as a suspect in several abduction and murder cases
and is focusing on a half-dozen other cases where Lent "possibly
could have been involved," Pittsfield Police Chief Gerald Lee said
yesterday.
Based on exhaustive research that retraces the movements of Lent
since his youth, investigators have been able to rule out Lent, now
43, as a suspect in a number of cases in Massachusetts and across the
