Alexander Cella, at 64; professor at Suffolk and former legislator

Alexander J. Cella of Lexington, a former state representative,
Democratic operative and professor at Suffolk Law School, died
yesterday in Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 64.
Mr. Cella had been Hubert Humphrey's Massachusetts campaign
manager during his 1968 presidential campaign, and legal counsel to
Massachusetts House speakers John F. Thompson, John F.X. Davoren and
Robert H. Quinn and Senate President Maurice A. Donahue.
Mr. Cella was born in Medford. In 1947 he graduated from Medford
High School, where he headed the student council, played football and
won first prize of $100 in a ...
