READER FEEDBACK: A year after his election, do you approve of the direction in which President Clinton is leading the nation?

They may doubt some of his steps along the way, but readers responding to our question on President Clinton overwhelmingly approved of the direction he has set for the nation. Of 631 respondents, 420 said they approved of the direction, while 211 said they did not. Clinton got generally high marks for openness and sincerity in pushing on important issues. Detractors pointed to promises unkept and moments of apparent indecisiveness. But many more found something exciting in the young president from Arkansas. There will be another question next week.
