Francis T. Bresnahan, leader of Newburyport schools; at 67

A funeral Mass will be said today for Francis T. Bresnahan of
Newburyport, superintendent of schools in that city, who died Sunday
in Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was 67.
Mr. Bresnahan was born in Newburyport. He graduated from
Newburyport High School and Tufts University and earned a master's
degree at Boston University.
He had been superintendent of schools since 1970. He joined the
school system as a teacher in 1949 and had also been principal of
Newburyport High School.
Mr. Bresnahan had served as chairman of the College Entrance Board
Committee on Secondary Schools and been ...
