Sullivan to have his day in court Former Patriots owner takes on NFL this morning

When former New England Patriots owner William H. (Billy) Sullivan Jr. walks into US District Court in Boston this morning, he will be looking for more than a verdict that says the National Football League violated federal antitrust laws; he will be searching for vindication.

"This is an opportunity to say that the NFL deprived me of the chance to hold on to the team," Sullivan said yesterday in an interview in the Ritz Carlton suite of his attorney and son-in-law, Joseph Alioto.

"I got kicked out of my life's work," said Sullivan, 78, who founded the American Football League's Boston ...
