Boston to BC: Benefit the city BRA says if not, no OK on stadium

The city of Boston will not let Boston College add 12,000 seats to its football stadium unless BC offers scholarships to city residents and donates ticket proceeds to neighborhood charities, the head of the Boston Redevelopment Authority declared yesterday.

BRA director Paul L. Barrett said that BC must go beyond merely controlling traffic and other negative impacts from the stadium expansion and offer a "community benefit package" to win BRA approval.
