THE LYRES
At: The Rat, Friday night
All is well with the world, or at least it is well in one tiny
part of Boston's rock 'n' roll subculture. The Lyres, the
garage-rock quartet of varying membership but fronted by
singer-organist Jeff Conolly from 1979 to 1988, is back. Back at
the old homestead (The Rat) for a weekend gig (Friday) and whipping
up a storm of timeless trash-rock that's frantic and fun and just
