Snow Artist Finds Divine Inspiration

Dave Carney went outside to play in the snow Saturday night and, 12 hours later, a seven-foot-tall replica of Michelangelo's "Pieta" was rising from his front yard.

"I was just looking to make something with a wide base and a narrow top, like a pyramid, but as I began to mold the snow, the spirit grabbed me," said Carney, 39, a student at the University of Rochester who has been studying in Washington for two years.
