PHILIP J. TARDANICO, 55 TAUGHT AT FITCHBURG STATE COLLEGE

Philip J. Tardanico, professor of industrial technology at Fitchburg State College and a former education official with the Massachusetts Department of Correction, died of a heart attack Wednesday at his home in Harvard. He was 55.

Mr. Tardanico left the state prison system as education director in 1975 to join the faculty of Fitchburg State. In 1984 he became chairman of the industrial technology department there.

Born in Dorchester, Mr. Tardanico graduated from Dorchester High School in 1952 and Fitchburg State in 1957. He received a master's degree in education at Boston State ...
