SOLIDARITY BACKS WALESA FOR PREMIER

WARSAW - Solidarity members of Parliament overwhelmingly
endorsed a resolution last night calling for the first
non-Communist government in the Soviet bloc, with Lech Walesa as
prime minister.
Walesa, however, said early today, "I will not be prime
minister.
"There are better people than Walesa" for the job, he said,
but he added it was not his final decision.
"The final decision will be when they nail up my coffin," he
told reporters.
