GLASGOW - In some European cities you can drink wine, beer or stronger stuff at Art Nouveau cafes adorned with the lashing curves and languid floral forms that are the turn-of-the-century style's trademark. In Glasgow -- where the turn of the century was a time of temperance crusades and strict morals -- you can visit an authentic Art Nouveau tea room, where any line that meanders into a curve is held in check by a neighboring right angle. On the Continent, Art Nouveau may have been faintly decadent, but the Scottish version of the style was as upright as a Presbyterian minister.
