LAVISH MUSICAL 'ZIEGFELD' PLANNED FOR LONDON STAGE

LONDON - "Ziegfeld," a lavish new stage musical, will open
in April in what producer Harold Fielding said was his "biggest and
most spectacular" project ever.
"It is a very big project. If we get the show right, it would
be great for Broadway and even Japan," said Fielding of the $5.63
million extravaganza directed by Joe Layton and scheduled to open
April 26 at the Palladium.
Broadway veteran Len Cariou will make his London debut playing
the title role of Florenz Ziegfeld, the legendary American theater
manager who pioneered the popular follies revues.
